The Historical Poem Pararaton

The Pararaton or Ken Angrok is a historical poem on the origins of the the kingdom of Singhasari, the predecessor of Madjapahit, and Madjapahit itself, in the surviving manuscript written after 1481, the date of the last entry. Its focus is on the mythological early history of Ken Angrok before his accession to the throne. This edition follows that of J. L. A. Brandes, Pararaton (Ken Arok) of het boek der Koningen van Tumapel en van Majapahit, Batavia-s'Hage 1897, and the Dutch translation of the text.
