HOSPITALLER SOURCES 1493

5 August, 1493
Master, bailiffs, priors, and leading brethren in the chapter general decree a general visitation in the priories of Germany, Bohemia, Hungary, Dacia, and Sweden, in the bailiwick of Brandenburg and in the preceptories of Brabant and Liège and authorize the grand bailiff fr. Peter Stoltz and the preceptor of Capua, fr. Giovanantonio di Attis, to act as their lieutenants.

5 August, 1493. Rhodes.
Fr. Pierre d'Aubusson, Grand Master, and the general chapter at Rhodes confirm a letter concerning the division of the preceptories of the priorate of Germany amongst knights and chaplains and serving brethren. Preceptories for knights are among others Burgsteinfurt and Arnhem; for chaplains among others Mechelen; Utrecht is not mentioned. Master and Council decline the petition of the Latin Archbishop of Rhodes, Marco de Monte, to increase his yearly pension from 100 to 200 ducats.
