Pope Paul II confirms the mandate for fr. Cincio de Ursinis to assemble the Italian brethren to achieve a stronger support for the convent and to enforce the sending of brethren to Rhodes.

Pope Paul II informs Master and Convent at Rhodes that those Italian brethren who did not pay their passagium have been reminded to do so.

20 January, 1471
Pope Paul II to Master and Convent at Rhodes: offers help against the Turks, demands vigilance and the extension of the system of guards, especially for St. Nicholas-Tower.

24 January, 1471
Pope Paul II supports the plans of Master and Convent for the reform of the Order and allows the convocation of a chapter general; all changes in the statutes have to be confirmed by the pope.

07 February, 1471
Pope Paul II orders the Prior of St. Gilles, the Convent, and the Receptor of the Order in Avignon to pay back the money lent from Juan Tagamanent in Mallorca.

24 February, 1471. Westminster.
Henry VI grants Fr. John Langstrother, prior of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem in England, and John Delves, esquire, the offices of warden of the exchange and mint within the Tower of London and the custody of the coinages of gold and silver within the realm of England and the town of Calais, receiving fees as in the last year of Edward III and the first of Richard II from the issues of the same, with all accustomed profits. Pope Paul II to Master and Convent at Rhodes: excuses the proctor general fr. Melchiore Bandini who cannot come to Rhodes because of an illness (podagra).

19 April, 1471
The Greek Metropolitan informs the Council that some priests (calogeri et papates) have refused to celebrate mass according to the regulations of the Florentine Union and asks for the help of the Hospitallers (petit auxilium brachii religionis et reverendissimi domini magistri) to exile the schismatics; the Master and the Council give their assent.

17 September, 1471. Rhodes.
Fr. Giovanni-Baptista de Orsinis, Master, grants to Fr. Hermannus Schult preceptoriarum nostrarum Mechel et Columbarie prioratus nostri Alamanie preceptori an annual rent of 40 gold Rhineland guilders from the revenues of the camera magistralis Buchs.
