*TS1208.02.28 - 28 February, 1208, Lateran. - Innocent III to the preceptor and brethren of the Templars in France: forbids that the brethren participate in any form in the usual French juridicial trial by battle. TS1208.07.10 - 10 July, 1208, San Germano. - Pope Innocent III to [Albert] Patriarch of Jerusalem and the masters of the Templars and the Hospitallers: orders that they accept the alms of the Cistercians and the Fortieth of Bishop [Odo] of Paris together with 1.000 pounds of Provence, to be spent for the Holy Land as seems necessary. He admonishes them to care constantly for the heritage of Christ not only within their borders but also in Antioch and Tripoli. They shall try to procure peace not only in the Empire but also in the other kingdoms, so that the Holy Land receives more support. Inc. Super miseria Terrae. TS1208.07.12 - 12 July, 1208, San Germano. - Pope Innocent III to [Albert] Patriarch of Jerusalem and the masters of the Templars and the Hospitallers: authorizes them to act in the election of the patriarch of Antioch. He orders them to absolve those canons of this church who are excommunicated. They shall admonish those who have the right to elect the patriarch of Antioch that they elect a suited person from the province or citra mare as leader of the church in a canonical election and within a certain time.
