Della iustitia de quarantina
Item questi sonno li usagi che se usano nella mayson del hospitale, liqualli dicono non essere scripti tamen son notati, videlicet:
Prima che ogni comandamento de facti d’arme non abia minore iustitia che de quarantina, con quel ch’ella vole.
Item chi portarà fornimento d’oro né d’argento et pianta se ne fazà sia in quarantina, con quel ch’essa comanda.
Item chi porta vestimenta abotonata per altra forma che luy non debbe sia in quarantina.
Item chi porta l’armatura senza lizentia sia in quarantina.
Item chi entra in casa de secculer o in zardino senza lizentia né in altri locchi sirati sia in quarantina.
Item chi gioccha alli dati né ad altro gioccho dove vadano o se pagano dinari sia in quarantina.
Item chi porta borsa et non la debbe portar sia in quarantina.
Item chi farà fornegiar il cavallo dell’arme sia in quarantina.
Item chi se impaziarà dell’officio d’altri sia in quarantina.

The collections of esgarts and usuances offer a series of precedential cases in which the courts of the order imposed the penalty of 'quarantine' which later were enacted as statutes by the chapters general or became obsolete in time. This catalogue of penances was formed in the collections in BNCF Ms. Magl. cl. XXXII, 37 (fol. 110r, Italian, there shortened) as well as in NLM Libr. 501 to adapt the esgarts to the actual sitation and obviously served as prototype for Caoursin.
