In domo hospitalis usitatum est, ne fratres offerre debeant nisi semel in anno, videlicet in festo purificationis domine nostre, debent etiam offerre prima die lune xl, quando pro magistris defunctis officium celebratur et quando prima missa fratris defuncti cantatur.
In BNCF Ms. Magl. cl. XXXII, 37, fol. 102v (Italian), the usance prescribes the sacrifice of the mass only at Candlemas [candeloro] and for the memory of the masters on the first Monday of Lent [quadragesima], the French version in Cart., 2, no. 2213, §128, p. 560, following BNF Ms. franç. 6049 (ca. 1303), only at Candlemas and at the requiem for a deceased brother.
