Fr. Giovanni-Baptista de Orsinis, Master, and the Convent grant some houses in Frisia to Fr. Peter Madur. - Names of predecessors are not mentioned, nor is any mention made of the existence of a vacancy per cessum vel decessum. Fr. [Edward IV appoints], during pleasure, the king's councillor John Langstrother, knight, prior of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem in England, as treasurer of England with all rights, regards, and privileges. Master and Convent decide that the preceptory of Haarlem, hitherto a member of the prioral chamber of Utrecht, becomes an independent prioral chamber for which the bailiwick Utrecht no longer has to pay. Fr. Giovanni-Baptista de Orsinis, Master, authorizes the Fr. Jean de Chalby and Jacques Calliot to do justice in the case of Fr. Johann von Ow, Prior of Germany, versus Fr. Engelbert van Foreest, Bailiff of Utrecht, who refuses to pay his full duties to the treasury and has not yet appeared at the Convent, in person or by proxies, to defend his case. [Edward IV appoints] the king's kinsman William, bishop of Ely, as treasurer of the exchequer. Whereas on 16 August last by letters patent the king appointed John Langstrother, prior of St. John of Jerusalem in England, treasurer of England, but the office as formerly granted by the name of the office of treasurer of the Exchequer. The king, to prevent ambiguity, confirms all concessions, assignments, and payments made by the said treasurer by virtue of the said letters, and pardons to him all offences committed by him since that date in office of treasurer of England or the office of the treasurer of the Exchequer.
