Master Fr. Antoni Fluviá and the Convent grant to frater Johannes de Swalbach in addition to baiuliam Wyssel [= Niederweisel], which he already possesses, baiulias seu preceptorias de Arnhem et Novomagio vacant by the death of frater Simon Bracht, the advowson of which belongs to Master and Convent, for 10 years [...]. Master Fr. Antoni Fluviá acquits Fr Johann von Swalbach, the new head of the preceptories of Arnhem and Nimwegen, of his obligations regarding the annates of the said preceptories to the amount of 133 gold Venetian ducats and 12 aspers, for which amount, including the annual contributions (responsiones), these two preceptories were assigned to him; with the stipulation that should the annates accrue a surplus value to an amount of 20 florins, the additional revenues would be settled with the Master; and includes order to the central and prioraltreasuries to allot Johann the usufruct of these annates without further charge. The heads of the preceptories of Vallterre and Mainz are ordered to place Fr. Rutgerus de Juede in the peaceful possession of the preceptory of Mechelen. Fr. Johann von Swalbach, head of the preceptories of Niederweisel, Arnhem and Nimwegen, is licensed to leave Rhodos for his preceptories. 8 August, 1432. Lübeck.
Edward de Boeris makes known that his brother Gerrard de Boeris and he have fully received 1120 Rhenian gld. from brother Benedictus, prior of the house of Antvorskov of the Hospital of St John, for eight years of rent due to the grand master at Rhodes. Gerrard and Edward have promised to send the money to Venice so that the master or his proctors can take over the money. They have already received a receipt for five years, i.e. for 700 gld., so that only a receipt for three years or 420 gld. remains. Witnessed by Hinrik Rapesuluer mayor, brother Benedictus and Edward in front of Hermen van Hagen, scribe of the town council. (Archiv der Hansestadt Lübeck, Niederstadtbuch for 1432 Ass. 10 November, 1432. Rome.
[The proctor general of the Teutonic Knights at the Roman curia, Kaspar Wandofen, informs the grand master in Prussia that the new proctor general of the Hospitallers, a former lieutenant of the treasurer, has been forced to inform the pope about the order's incomes and expenses. He adds a] budget of the Hospitallers in 1432 which includes incomes from the East (comerchium, spolia, passagia, Kos, Cyprus, and Nisyros) and the West and the expenses for the convent (hospital, food supply, galleys) and the castle of St Peter.
