TS1231.01.19 - 19 January, 1231, Lateran. - Pope Gregory IX to Emperor Frederick II.: congratulates him for his efforts to strengthen the kingdom of Jerusalem; shall restore Templars and Hospitallers what he took from them in the Kingdom of Sicily, and recompense them for the damages (Reg. TS1231.02.26 - 26 February, 1231, Lateran. - Pope Gregory IX to Master and brethren of the Templars: they should abstain from everything that would put the Holy Land and its visitors into danger. Especially, the conditions of peace and the prohibitions by the imperial bailiff shall be kept, the knights of the Kingdom of Jerusalem shall not be instigated to military actions. (Reg. TS1231.02.26.a - 26 February, 1231, --. - Pope Gregory IX to Emperor Frederick II: complains that Templars and Hospitallers have not received back everything that has been taken from them even though the orders do not flinch from juridicial decisions. Admonishes him to return all properties because otherwise the orders lack the necessary means to fulfill their tasks in the Holy Land. The pope empowers the abbot of Casamari. TS1231.02.26.b - 26 February, 1231, --. - Pope Gregory IX to the masters of the Templars: orders him - following the complaint of the Emperor - not to violate the truce [with the sultan] against the peace and the order of the imperial balivus because this only helps the king of Persia. TS1231.04.29 - 29 April, 1231, Rome, Lateran. - Pope Gregory IX to Emperor Frederick II: repeats his query of 26 February, 1231, to restore the properties of Hospitallers and Templars; adds that the orders are ready to transfer the feudalia which they have received from other authorities that the papacy since the time of the Emperor's mother to the German Master of the Teutonic Order until a decision has been taken by the mediators. TS1231.06.13 - 13 Juni, 1231, Reate. - Pope Gregory IX to Emperor Frederick II: asks again to restore the properties of Hospitallers and Templars whom he represses so strongly that nearly nothing remains for them in his kingdom. TS1231.07.08 - 8 July, 1231, Rieti. - Pope Gregory IX to the brethren of the Templars in Hungary: confirms the agreement between them and Coloman rex Ruthenorum concerning certain villages, houses, properties, animals and other things damaged by the King.
