TS1181.00.00 - 1181-1185, --. - Lucius III commissions the abbots Aymo of St-Bénigne and Milo of St-Étienne in Dijon (dioc. Langres) to end the conflict between the prior of Vergy and the Templars of Gevrey [?] (inter priorem de Vergeio et Templarios de Genru) concerning the tenth in the area of Neuvelle. TS1181.00.00.a - 1181-1185, --. - Lucius III grants master [Arnaldus] and the Templars ( magistro et fratribus militie Templi) as Alexander [III] and according to their petition the right to build churches in places which they have conquered from the hands of the Saracens (de Sarracenorum manibus) and which is no episcopal see. These churches are only subjected to the Roman church and no prelate shall presume to have any right in them. (Deperditum, mentioned in extended document of Urban III from 1186/1187, cf. TS1181.03.09 - 9 March, 1181-1182, --. - Lucius III mandates bishop Odo of Beirut to investigate and settle the dispute between bishop [Anterius] of Valenia and the Templars ( Valioniensem episcopum et fratres milissie Templi) concerning a hospital, bakehouse and two gardens. TS1181.09.29 - 29 September, [1181-1182], Velletri. - Pope Lucius III to all archbishops, bishops, abbots, priors, archdeacons, deacons, priests and prelates: orders to admonish their subjects to support the Templars; remits the seventh part of the ecclesiastical penance for the donators of the order; grants the right of free burial; and the order's collectors are allowed to celebrate masses once a year in areas under interdict.
